The Russo Brothers Confirm Stan Lee's Last Marvel Cameo Is In 'Endgame'

If you’ve seen Captain Marvel then you know how all-in Marvel went to pay tribute to the late Stan Lee, co-creator of many beloved characters populating the MCU. Not only did we get the opening Marvel credit changed to show Lee popping up in every movie since Iron Man (beginning in 1989 and including movies made by other studios), but we also got a cameo. As Vers/Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) stalks a skrull on public transportation, fans got to see her smile at Lee as he practiced lines for an appearance in 1995’s Mallrats.

It was pretty great.

Now we know that Lee got one more cameo committed to film, for the sure to be epic Avengers: Endgame.

“I have to say, I think it’s astonishing that this would be his last cameo. It’s just kind of mind-boggling that he made it to the end of this run. I can’t believe it.” - Joe Russo to Mashable

Lee passed away in November 2018 at the age of 95, missing Captain Marvel box office surpassing one billion dollars and becoming the seventh film in the MCU to do so. If early ticket sales are any indication, Endgame will become the eighth, closing out an era of some of the most cohesive and expansive world-building to hit the theaters in a while. (I stand ready to hear arguments in the comments.)
