  • Jodie Foster and Kate Winslet will play the wives and Matt Dillon and Christoph Waltz will play their husbands in God of Carnage, about two sets of parents brought together by an altercation between their children. Roman Polanski will direct, which means we can now officially put Jodie Foster, Kate Winslet, Matt Dillon, and Christoph Waltz on the Polanski sympathizer list. Get yer’ pitchforks. (Deadline)

  • PBS, after responding from a number of parent complaints, has thankfully decided not to run the Katy Perry/Elmo/Cleavage video. (TMZ)

  • Nicholas Pileggi, who wrote Goodfellas, is now penning a “Goodfellas” pilot for the television screen. A “Goodfellas” television series? Yes. A “Goodfellas” television series. (Deadline)

  • Christopher Guest hasn’t given us a mockumentary awhile, presumably while he works up another subject. It looks to be retro-collectors. (Women on the Web)

Rob Zombie, sadly, has not given up directing yet. He’ll next direct The Lords of Salem, about what unfolds when an group of witches plague modern-day Salem. (Deadline)

  • I would never, ever suggest that you listen to a movie blog podcast because, really, do you want to hear a couple of pasty white dudes ruminate on the latest Brett Ratner rumor for half an hour? Of course you don’t. But FilmDrunk’s Frotcast is different. For one, they avoid the trade news minutia. Mostly, they just throw profanities back and forth and make Your Momma jokes. And yet, somehow, it works. Plus, Vince is probably the only dude alive that loves both Bravo and Spike television equally. It’s kind of creepy. Listen to the latest, where they discuss The Town. (Frotcast)

  • So, Shia Labeouf hilariously cannot pronounce the word “epitome.”

  • But that’s OK. Sofia Vergara can’t pronounce “Shia Labeouf.”

  • Portia de Rossi has decided to take Ellen Degeneres’ last name, which is great because I always have to look up the spelling of de Rossi. And it’s always all about me. (AP)

  • Hipsters = Fascists. Man, I love this. (The Awl) It even jibes well with this (Hipster Hitler)

  • Netflix is apologizing after it got busted for hiring actors to claim they liked Netflix. That’s silly. I would’ve vouched for them. (AV Club)

  • Just FYI: Amy Ryan’s return to “The Office,” begins in December, as the writers put the Michael Scott exit plan into place. (EW)
