First, I should remind you there is going to be a Problem Child TV show. The movie, which did a greater disservice to adoption than Orphan and may be singlehandedly responsible for anti-ginger sentiments worldwide, will now be a heartwarming NBC show. That’s totally fine, as long as they bring in the flawless interior decorating and highly appetizing puke orgies from Problem Child 2.
Erinn Hayes from Children’s Hospital has been cast as the female lead (the Amy Yasbeck role) and now she has a John Ritter—Matthew Lillard.
The TV adaptation, written by Scot Armstrong, is described as a family show about the cat-and-mouse game between a set of parents and their brilliant but mischievous child. Lillard has been cast as the dad, a role played in the movie by Ritter. Armstrong is executive producing with Brian Grazer, Bob Simonds, Peter Traugott and Rachel Kaplan for Universal TV.
