The best thing to come out of the otherwise mediocre “Tenderfields” sketch in last night’s Saturday Night Live was the reaction it received from The Holderness family, which shot to viral stardom last Christmas for their video Christmas Card, “#XMAS JAMMIES.”
Last night’s parody “SNL” sketch basically mocked the Holderness Family with a 2014 video Christmas card that covered the less-than-spectacular year the family has had since going viral: The kids don’t respect their father anymore, the mom’s attempts to parlay the video into an acting career flamed out, one kid thinks he’s a dog now, and the other kid is a sociopath. Oh, and the mom had an affair.
What did the real-life Holderness family think of it? Just what you’d expect from those guys:
We LOVE Saturday Night Live. LOVE. Obsessed. If we were only cool enough to stay awake for it we would have seen them spoof our video. THIS. MAKES. MY. LIFE.
Except for the affair and sociopath children — this is pretty spot on.
Cheery bastards! They even have a good sense of humor about themselves. Those earnest sons of bitches make it impossible to dislike them.
