Not to distract from Hillary’s own book, What Happened (which Hannah has so eloquently reviewed), but there is another Clinton who writes books… and his stuff is gonna get a TV adaptation!
Showtime has just acquired the rights to The President Is Missing, a thriller currently being co-written by the 42nd President of the United States, Bill Clinton, and bestselling author James Patterson. Apparently there was a bidding war around the TV rights, which makes sense — even though the book isn’t out, there’s no way it won’t be a hit. Patterson alone has more #1 ranking New York Times bestsellers to his name than any other single author. And while Bill has written a number of other non-fiction books, including My Life, this will be his first novel. In fact, it’ll be the first time a U.S. President has ever co-authored a thriller. At least until Stephen King 2020, amirite?
