Here’s your first look at a nearly unrecognizable Tom Hardy as English gangster Ronnie Kray; in Brian Helgeland’s (42, A Knight’s Tale) Legend he’ll also portray Ronnie’s partner in crime and twin, Reggie. During the 1950s and 60s, the psychotic pair terrorized London as leaders of a gang known for violence and oddly, their celebrity status — the pair often socialized with political and Hollywood figures.

And if all this sounds familiar, that’s because back in the 90s, Peter Medak (Hannibal, Romeo Is Bleeding) directed his own version of the story; The Krays, starring real-life brothers Martin and Gary Kemp, aka Spandau Ballet.
But where Tom Hardy is concerned, we don’t care about retread, do we?
