The New 'Toy Story' TV Special Will Have What the Other Movies Lacked: Mace-Wielding Dinosaurs

There’s been word of a Toy Story Christmas TV special floating around for a few months, but today things took a big Comic-Con sized step forward. The movie will focus heavily on the dinosaur toys, because if you had the choice between making a movie that’s about dinosaurs and one that’s NOT about dinosaurs… well, that’s an easy choice, right?

During a post-Christmas play date, the ‘Toy Story’ gang find themselves in uncharted territory when the coolest set of action figures ever turn out to be dangerously delusional. It’s all up to Trixie [Kristen Schaal], the triceratops, if the gang hopes to return to Bonnie’s room.

The leader of those cool action figures is Reptillus Maximus (played by Kevin McKidd), who, like Buzz Lightyear initially, doesn’t know he’s a toy. Because action figures have a really strong sense of denial, apparently. The first poster has just been released, designed by Mike Mignola (the creator of Hellboy), just in time for the special’s Comic-Con panel on Thursday.

I think I’ve finally found my spirit animal.
