What’s that old saying in television? Something along the lines of… “If it ain’t broke, throw a bunch of awesome guest stars at it anyway.” Well, that’s the advice that Jane the Virgin is following. Three episodes in, the show has already firmly secured its place on many of our DVRs (mostly by virtue of it being goddamn amazing). So how could they make it even better? Duh. Add Judy Reyes to the cast.
Reyes will be joining the show next year (hopefully very very early next year), playing Dina, the head writer on Jane’s as-of-yet secret father’s telenovela, The Passions of Santos. As any Scrubs fan knows, more Carla is never a bad thing. Why?
To start, there’s her happy face.
Not to mention her very UNhappy face.
And her general “take no prisoners, give no f*cks” attitude.
For which she is happy to give lessons.
But don’t let that tough exterior fool you. We hear she gives great hugs.
Let’s hope Reyes has an arc (or even permanent role!) that will let her show off all those angles.
