‘The Daily Show’ Says Goodbye To Fox News, And It Is Glorious

I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised to hear that Trevor Noah isn’t going to focus on Fox News as much as his predecessor. Not because Fox News doesn’t deserve it, but because it shows Noah is aware that he needs to branch off from what The Daily Show has been known for. He needs to make this his show by doing his thing. And bashing Fox News? That’s Jon Stewart’s thing. My God, is that his thing.

I mean, it’s one thing to expose over and over again how the Fair and Balanced network is actually the hypocritical, media arm of the GOP. It’s quite another to explain to Fox News, “Oh, that thing you’re trying to do? This is how you do it. Let me show you using examples of all of the terrible bullshit that you’ve been doing. And the reason you can’t do this thing, even though I just presented you with the template and examples of how to do it? It’s because you’re so terrible at your jobs. Unlike me. Who is awesome at it.”

I can’t imagine with only four shows left I’d have to encourage you to watch every segment, but seriously make sure you watch Amy Schumer’s interview. It’s amazing, she’s amazing, she talks about hanging out with Jennifer Lawrence, and she does this.

I know the progressives revere Stewart in a way that is both unseemly for us and (probably) undeserving for him, but right now, I can’t care about that. Amy, you are having the week that most of us only dream of. Whatever deal you made with Satan, rest assured it was worth it.
