DC is making me excited for their Suicide Squad while causing me to lose all interest in Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Yawn. It’s like their superpower is making me meh about a Batman movie. Actually, that’s more of a supervillain thing, DC.

We now know that Suicide Squad takes place between Man of Steel and B Vs S. The film already has Jared Leto (The Joker), Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Will Smith (Deadshot), Jai Courtney (Captain Boring Boomerang), Cara Delevingne (Enchantress), Joel Kinnaman (Rick Flagg), and Viola Davis (Amanda Waller). Now two more cast members have been added officially and one more unofficially.

In an exclusive on The Wrap, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje has been cast as Waylon Jones/Killer Croc. This is glorious, wonderful, amazing news. Akinnuoye-Agbaje is a strong physical presence and a fantastic actor well-suited to play the Croc.

According to Latino Review, Scott Eastwood has been cast as Wonder Woman love interest Steve Trevor and will cameo in Suicide Squad. I’ve only seen Eastwood act in a trailer for some Nicholas Sparks monstrosity that TK will likely review while drinking from the gallon jug flask he secrets into theaters. Anyway, Eastwood playing Trevor as love interest and possible A.R.G.U.S. connection works for me.

Last of all, Latino Review is also reporting that Plastique has been cast and will be played by Karen Fukuhara (???). I…whatever.

Does it give you more hope for the DC movies now that they’re taking a page from the Marvel playbook? Surely Steve Trevor will be a small part in Suicide Squad to build to his appearance in Wonder Woman. Will Killer Croc be a small role as well so he can appear in a later Batman sequel?
