ABC's 'Castle' Gets a Shake-Up, Boots One of the Leads
I used to be a regular watcher of ABC’s Castle because I was willing to follow Nathan Fillion anywhere … for a few seasons, anyway. However, once I realized that the first six scenes of virtually every single episode of the procedural were the same, I bailed on it. The murders of the week were increasingly tedious, and the series arc was going nowhere.

I do understand that Kate and Castle did eventually get together, broke up, and got back together again (it’s hard to follow because even the Wiki’s lost interest in Castle after season six). However, it appears that they will be breaking up again, as Stana Katic has not been asked back for season nine. She’s out. Additionally, Tamala Jones will also not return next year.
The series hasn’t officially been renewed by ABC, but it is expected to come back or a shortened, 13-episode season. This move was seen mostly as an effort to cut costs on the series.
Personally, I think it’s great, because it will finally free Stana Katic up to do something I might actually watch, like televised Rizzoli and Isles fan fiction with Anna Torv.
Now, somebody please save Nathan Fillion from this show, as well. And take Molly Quinn, too, before she resorts to more of these photoshoots. What are you doing, Alexis Castle!
