Mara Wilson has had a rough day on Twitter. Last night she put it out there that no, she has no interest in the announced Mrs. Doubtfire sequel.
For the record, no, I do not have anything to do with the Mrs. Doubtfire sequel, nor will I.

I've been in some mediocre movies, but I've never been in a sequel. And I have no interest in being in one now.
— Mara Wilson (@MaraWritesStuff) April 17, 2014
Sequels generally suck unless they were planned as part of a trilogy or series. I think Doubtfire ended where it needed to end.

I'm glad I had the chance to be in it, and I'm proud of what we did, but I don't see how we could do it again.

She might have thought that was the end of it, and people would read those tweets, respect her opinion, and go along their merry way. But that would be assuming that people on the internet are rational folks with their priorities solidly in check. And that was her first mistake.
They haven't asked me to be in it, and I think it would be weird if they did! I don't act much and am not a cute little kid anymore.

The only reason I've SAID I don't want to do it is because of the literal hundreds of people asking me about it.

I loved being in Doubtfire, and I'm grateful every day I had that experience. I met my sister-for-life Lisa there. I had a great time.
— Mara Wilson (@MaraWritesStuff) April 17, 2014
But I don't think a sequel makes sense plotwise, and I don't think there'd be a part for me even if I did still act and was interested.

Nope. Not gonna explain away the Twitter rage.
Sifting through "WHY WON'T YOU DO IT?" and "NO ONE CARES" mentions
— Mara Wilson (@MaraWritesStuff) April 17, 2014
Mo' mentions, mo' problems
— Mara Wilson (@MaraWritesStuff) April 17, 2014
And then she started trending on Facebook.
Calling me the "star" is way too generous. I had maybe twenty lines and lisped most of them. pic.twitter.com/jSU6rBMe5p
— Mara Wilson (@MaraWritesStuff) April 17, 2014
She once again reverted to sane rational logic to appease people.
Silly girl.
Does your mother know you spend so much time harassing C-listers on Twitter?
— Mara Wilson (@MaraWritesStuff) April 17, 2014
So what’s the takeaway?
*Answers a question hundreds of people are asking me*
"BITCH NO ONE CARES"
— Mara Wilson (@MaraWritesStuff) April 17, 2014
People are the worst. Lesson over.
Nothing like people calling you an ungrateful bitch all day.
