Good news, Cornetto fans! Simon Pegg and Nick Frost have gone into business for themselves, launching a new production company called Stolen Picture. The pair will produce film and television projects, and already have their first one lined up: a comedy/horror film called Slaughterhouse Rulez.
Pegg and Frost will executive produce the picture, which will be directed by Crispian Mills (A Fantastic Fear Of Everything) and based on a script Mills co-wrote with Henry Fitzherbert. The movie takes place at an elite boarding school that grooms boys and girls for greatness. A new student named Don Wallace must learn to navigate the school’s complex rules and rituals - at least until a little controversial fracking on school grounds unleashes unspeakable horror. It’s amazing what a fight for survival will do to the established pecking order.
The pair have worked with director Edgar Wright on the Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy: Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and The World’s End. They also co-wrote and starred in their own feature film, the alien comedy Paul, in 2011. Comedy/horror is definitely in Pegg and Frost’s wheelhouse, so this all bodes well for the new company - and we look forward to seeing what else they have up their sleeves!
