One of the names that popped up a few too many times for my comfort level in yesterday’s mean-spirited, but enlightening comment diversion (and honestly, I got a huge kick out of it — I’m going to do something of a follow-up to it tomorrow) was Kevin Smith. And for those of you who took a little time out of your day to trash Mr. Smith: Crawl up my ass and suffocate. Bitch.

On the subject of Kevin Smith, however, I have a little news, though it’s mostly for our New York City readership. He’s out on the East Coast for the next few months working on his next film, A Couple of Dicks, starring Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan. And while Kevin is in the area, he’s going to be doing another “Evening with Kevin Smith.” In Carnegie Hall. Yeah. Carnegie fucking Hall, people. Fun Fact: Everything sounds twice as cool in Carnegie Hall.

I know that many of you who don’t even care for Smith’s films dig the hell out of his lectures, and why shouldn’t you? He spills some unbelievable shit and talks more candidly about Hollywood than anyone else in that town. And, by the time the concert rolls around, he’ll have had spent several weeks with Tracy Morgan, and you know that dude is shitballs retarded in real life, and oblivious enough that Smith could rail on him all night and he’d never be the wiser.

Anyway, the concert is on June 17th. Tickets will go quick. And they go on sale today. At 11 a.m. EST. For more information, check out View Askew for the details. But do it quick, if you’re interested.
