Are y’all as excited to see Sean Bean’s new TNT series Legends as I am? I think he has a good shot of not dying (at least for the first season), seeing as how he seems to be the main character. Of course, that could be the set-up, and I could be in for a big fall, but I’m going to go ahead and believe this could be the time he lives. In a new interview discussing the series and actor’s acting methodology, Bean was asked if now that he’s done filming the first season, might he use the break in his schedule to film possible Game of Thrones season 5 flashbacks, and the former Ned Stark seemed very excited about the idea:
Interviewer: “I think they might show flashbacks via Bran’s connection to the heart trees.”
Sean Bean: “Oh, yeah, yeah! And I’m his father, so that would be great fun! Just to go back to that for a while, it would be such fun to do. It would be great! It would be bizarre, but it would be great! So I guess if they’re going to do flashbacks, then yeah!”
Interviewer: “Well, it’s just my theory …”
Bean: “But it’s a good theory! And that should happen, shouldn’t it? I’ve definitely got some unfinished business that needs to be resolved there. I’m obviously not Jon Snow’s dad. And you need that to be revealed at some point, don’t you? So Bran would kind of be the one having the flashback, and he would see Ned praying, right? And revealing those things? You never know what those guys are going to do with that. It’s got to be something special. But I’m into that. I certainly would be into that. Print that! Give them a nudge. [Laughs.] Hopefully I’ll get a call soon.”
Of course this all fits with The Mother of Jon Snow Theory, and I don’t know anyone who wouldn’t love a little Nedsposition to muddy the Jon’s parentage waters a little before we get the big reveal somewhere ‘round about Season 7 1/2 or 8.
Meanwhile, Legends, which stars Bean as undercover agent Martin Odum — who may or may not be losing his mind among the many identities he takes on — is headed our way August 13th.
