Scott Foley is, like, the nicest guy on the planet, and from what everything I’ve heard about him working on set, he’s also the consummate professional. It was a bit surprising, then, to hear that he’d gotten embroiled in a Twitter war with William Shatner, of all people. Then again, Shatner mostly spends his golden years live-tweeting and razzing other people on Twitter.
There are worse ways to spend your time, I suppose.
Last night on Jimmy Kimmel, the Scandal star addressed a recent Twitter spat he got into with Shatner. Apparently, Foley (like many of the other Scandal cast members) was live-tweeting last week’s episode, while at the same time, certain people involve with Rainn Wilson’s new series, Backstrom, were also live-tweeting. The Backstrom contingent was also tagging Scott Foley in some of the Tweets in the hopes of swinging Twitter’s collective attention toward Backstrom.
Foley kind of dismissed them, and Shatner went off on him (sort of).
I went back and dug up the tweets, and the exchanges were actually between Foley, Shatner, and actor Eddie McClintock, who guest starred on last week’s Backstrom.
The sound editing in this sequence is amazing!! #Scandal— scott foley (@scottkfoley) January 30, 2015
