Comedy is not the first thing that comes to mind when we think of the stunning Scarlett Johansson. It’s not even the fifteenth. But if the action star and celebrated dramatic actress wants to bring the funny, she couldn’t have picked a better team.
The Wrap reveals Johansson is in final talks to sign onto the Black List script Move That Body, penned by Lucia Aniello and Paul W. Downs, the former a writer and director for the hit Comedy Central sitcom Broad City, the latter a writer for the same show as well as co-star. You know him better as this guy:
Described as Weekend at Bernie’s meets The Hangover, Move That Body follows five friends over the course of a bachelorette party weekend at a beachhouse where they accidentally kill a male stripper. With the success of R-rated female-fronted comedies like Bridesmaids and The Heat, you can understand how this Black List script sparked a heated bidding war last summer. The dust settled with a Sony acquisition that placed Aniello at the helm, making her feature directorial debut.
Now if only they can secure the star power of Johansson.
