Sarah Chalke's Role on the Returning 'Roseanne' Has Been Revealed
When Roseanne was still in its original run and not completely off the rails, original Becky Connor (Lecy Goranson) left the show to go to college and was replaced by Second Becky (Sarah Chalke). After Goranson returned to the show, the two actresses shared the role for the rest of its run.
Now that Roseanne is returning to televisions, albeit with a crazier Roseanne at the helm, both Chalke and Goranson are starring on the show. Will they both be Becky again? Will we find out that everyone else in the family had face-blindness and the two Beckys traded places whenever one needed a break or wanted to follow a band on tour?
Nah. That kind of ridiculousness has hopefully been left to rot with the no-longer-the-last-season-last-season idiotic storylines. Goranson will be Becky Connor and Chalke is a married woman that hires her to serve as a surrogate mother for her. This allows both to be involved in the series run without them playing the same character.
Great. But I have questions. Perhaps they are answered elsewhere.
Is the last season of Roseanne null and void? Did Dan die or not? Per Hollywood Reporter:
Remember that series finale in which Goodman’s family patriarch Dan died? Ignore that. “I wouldn’t say that it is ignoring the events of the finale, but I can confirm that Dan is definitely still alive,” Dungey told reporters in August.
What about Mark, whose original actor Glenn Quinn passed away in 2002? Hollywood Reporter to the rescue again sort of:
The fate of David’s older brother, Mark, will be addressed.
Other than that, eh. Are you even excited about it?
