I’ve already made my Bond theme opinions known — what’s important about these songs is that they set the tone for each film. Turns out the rumor Ellie Goulding would be recording the Spectre theme was incorrect (though it seems she may have recorded an updated Live and Let Die for the film), and Sam Smith’s tip was a diversion. The Money on My Mind singer’s Spectre theme has just been released, and frankly…it’s a bit worrying. Because this song, Writing’s on the Wall, portends extreme…BOREDOM.

Here, have a listen:

Sorry dude, but this is not how I want to get my Bond on.

Whereas Adele’s Skyfall feels epic and dreamy and gorgeous, Smith’s song literally* put me to sleep.

Let’s all WAKE UP and pretend that was just a bad dream.

Spectre hits theaters November 6th. Happy Friday, y’all!
