Ryan Reynolds Wants to Remake 'Clue' with 'Deadpool' Writers
First of all, Ryan Reynolds now has a production company and it is called Maximum Effort. That’s the best part of this story and what I need you to remember forever. Maximum Effort Productions or whatnot has a 3-year deal with FOX-not-Disney-yet-right? that allows them a first look at new projects.
The first project? A remake of the 1985 cult classic Clue. Reynolds will have a starring role and the writing team from super wonderful good time fun Deadpool, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, will write the script.
Listen. I have many feelings in my pants about this, but none in my nostalgia. And I love Clue. I am 100% OK with Reynolds developing a remake of it. We could end up with a brand new cult favorite or we might get a Poop Knife: The Animated Adventure. You never know. And for some reason today, I am just not upset about it.
Join me here in Whatever Land, where we try to save the outrage for uncontrollable emotional outbursts that hit at the worst possible time, won’t you? Over here we all float and are quite alright with Reynolds remaking our entire catalog of favorite movies if the stories are tight and get that R-rating. We may also all be on meds in Whatever Land. It doesn’t matter.
Toy Story remake starring Reynolds. YES, PLEASE. The Dark Knight with Reynolds as Two-Face. OH MY GOD, THANK YOU. The Land Before Time with Reynolds as Duckie. HOLY SHIT, I’VE CAUGHT LIGHTNING IN A BOTTLE OVER HERE. COME TAKE A LOOK.
