The 'Ghostbusters' Remake Adds the One Female 'SNL' Cast Member It Was Desperately Missing

I was stoked about current and former SNLers Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, and Kristen Wiig being cast by Paul Feig (along with one of its most popular hosts in recent years, Melissa McCarthy). But I ached a little about the omission of Cecily Strong, Sarah Koenig impersonator and Internet crush extraordinaire.

Thankfully, Feig has filled that ache by allegedly adding Strong to the cast in a “key supporting role” (although, according to Film Divider, they are still in negotiations). Ms. Strong will play a character specifically carved out for her, “an authority figure who liaises with our heroines, privately backing their activities and acknowledging their legitimacy, but publicly denouncing the group to the media in order to avoid panic amongst the wider populous.”

But poor Sasheer, Aidy, and Vanessa, who must be feeling awfully left out right now.

No word from Cecily on Twitter yet, probably because her account was suspended last year.
