'X-Men: Apocalypse' Will Feature Moira McTaggert
We’ve got more news trickling out about X-Men: Apocalypse this weekend; it’s been confirmed that Rose Byrne will be returning as Moira McTagggert, the character she played in X-Men: First Class. Since Moira had her memory wiped by Charles at the end of First Class and didn’t play a role at all in Days of Future Past, she’s going to be reintroduced to the concept of mutants, to Charles himself, and to all the new character who will show up. I’m betting on at least one deja vu joke, if not several dozen over the course of the movie. Still no word on whether the Moira McTaggert of the CIA is meant to be the same Moira McTaggert who appears as a geneticist in Last Stand but I guess we’re all just pretending that Last Stand never happened, more or less.
X-Men: Apocalypse will take place in the early 1980s, which keeps up with the ten year or so skips we’ve already had between First Class and Days of Future Past. I don’t anticipate any work will actually be done to age up actors who are supposed to have gotten 20 years older even though only five years have passed in real time since First Class was filmed. Maybe they’ll surprise me and throw a wig with some gray in it on Bryne, though.
Also, if you are at all interested in the Fantastic Four reboot, theres some info on that in the link as well. I just assume that the current version of the X-Men franchise has more fans than the Fantastic Four franchise. Prove me wrong!
