Look, personally, I have no idea why anyone else would want to make a movie about Steve Jobs after Ashton Kutcher made the definitive Steve Jobs biopic, but apparently, two-bit hacks Aaron Sorkin (screenwriter) and Danny Boyle (director) thought they could tell a better story than Joshua Michael Stern and Matt Whitely. Whatever.
The problem is, while Joshua Michael Stern found the perfect Steve Jobs in Kutcher, Boyle and Sorkin are having problems nailing down a lead for their film. Sure, they’ve got Seth Rogen (the POOR MAN’S Josh Gad) in discussions to play Steve Wozniak, but holding on to a lead has proven difficult after Christian Bale pulled out of the project, saying that he felt he wasn’t “right” for the role.
Hey, Bale! That’s why you’re an actor. You didn’t see Kutcher throwing around excuses like, “I’m not right to play the most influential man in technology of the last several decades.” Kelso went in there and he acted, and by that, I mean, he grew a patchy beard and typed really fast on keyboards while smirking obnoxiously JUST LIKE STEVE JOBS.
Bale is the second person to back out of the role after Leonardo DiCaprio opted to shoot The Revenant instead because NO ONE in Hollywood is prepared to follow in the footsteps of the man behind Punk’d.
