Forbes published its annual highest paid actors list, and for the second year in a row, Robert Downey Jr. nabbed the top spot. What’s interesting here is the immediate (large) drop between RDJ and the somewhat surprising second highest earner. (Channing Tatum — right behind Downey last year — doesn’t even make this year’s list.) Another surprise: no Tom Cruise.
1. Robert Downey Jr.: $75 million
2. The Rock: $52 million
3. Bradley Cooper: $46 million
4. Leonardo DiCaprio: $39 million
5. Chris Hemsworth: $37 million
6. Liam Neeson: $36 million
7. Ben Affleck: $35 million
8. Christain Bale: $35 million
9. Will Smith: $32 million
10. Mark Wahlberg: $32 million
Meanwhile, EW asked RDJ if he wanted to continue suiting up for Iron Man 4, and after dancing around the decision-making process (“It’s down to Kevin [Feige, Marvel Studios president] and Ike [Perlmutter, CEO of Marvel Entertainment] and Disney to come to us with what the proposal is, and that’s on us to agree or disagree,” Downey said. “When things are going great, there’s a lot of agreement.”), he admitted “It’s that thing of: why give up the belt when it feels like you can barely get jabbed? Most people are saying that right when they get knocked out.”
