'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre' Prequel 'Leatherface' Has A Twisted, Bloody Trailer
This trailer is NSFW. Let me just get that out there immediately. This isn’t the Jessica Biel and Eric Balfour remake from 2003. We aren’t watching Alexandra Daddario find her birthright living in the disgusting basement of a newly inherited house (Texas Chainsaw 3D). It isn’t even the 2006 The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning with Jordana Brewster meeting the murderous Leatherface as a young serial killer.
Leatherface is a prequel whose trailer shows a push away from casting semi-well-known names to run from the titular character in the fewest clothes possible and veers into an actual look at how the Sawyer family created monsters. Instead of Leatherface just being there, we will get to see his family interact and mold who he will become. We also get to see baby’s first skin mask! AW!
And blood. Like, a ton of blood. This trailer is super bloody.
In Texas, years before the events of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, in the early days of the infamous Sawyer family, the youngest child is sentenced to a mental hospital after a suspicious incident leaves the sheriffs’ daughter dead. Ten years later, he kidnaps a young nurse and escapes with 3 other inmates. Pursued by authorities including the deranged sheriff out to avenge his daughter’s death, the young Sawyer teen goes on a violent road trip from hell, molding him into the monster known now as Leatherface. Oh, Stephen Dorff is the vengeful Texas Ranger, Hal Hartman.
