Rami Malek Is Playing Freddie Mercury in the Queen Movie

After lingering eternal in development hell, Queen is finally getting their biopic. And now they also have their Freddie: Mr. Robot star Rami Malek.

According to Deadline Hollywood, Bryan Singer is in talks to direct. And those talks must be going well because he posted this:

The “current” script (remember—this has been in the works A WHILE) comes from Anthony McCarten who wrote The Theory of Everything. Previous iterations were set to star Sacha Baron Cohen and Ben Whishaw.

I for one am delighted to see Malek take over all our screens. HACK THE PLANET—oh, wait, that’s not the right hacker thing.

And if you’re wondering if he can sing…
