Prepare For The Season Finale Of "Community" With Six Images And A Video!

Before any of you dear, dear readers post a comment lamenting how Pajiba has become a non-stop “Community” shop, you should be aware that we have registered these complaints and would like to remind you that there’s no trickery going on here. The name of the show is always in the headline, and the header image is always from the series itself or features a lead cast member. If you think you’re reading too much about “Community” on here you can conveniently click the “back” button on your browser, though your presence and page views are certainly welcome. If you decide to remain, please keep in mind that those of us who do like the show really couldn’t care less that you hate it. Because you’re a bad person.

Now that that’s out of the way, the rest of us can delight in a preview of tonight’s 90-minutes-with-commercials season finale, which very nearly makes them a whole movie (now if we can just get another three seasons). Let’s begin, shall we?

I’m not sure how any of us missed it (maybe you didn’t), but the AV Club posted a couple of screenshots from tonight’s first episode, “Digital Estate Planning,” which apparently features the characters entering or becoming characters in a classic 16-bit video game.

Helpfully, THR posted a couple more close-up stills of the characters as their sprite-based doppelgangers.

And via IGN (via Topless Robot) comes a clip that establishes the premise of the episode, which looks to be an extended riff ala “Abed’s Uncontrollable Christmas” rather than the brief dip into Anime from “Foosball and Nocturnal Vigilantism.”

As for the header photo above, and this one below, I believe they’re from tonight’s second episode (after “30 Rock”), entitled “The First Chang Dynasty.”

I know some fans have long gotten tired of Ken Jeong’s antics as Ben Chang, but for some reason he still speaks my Changuage. At least we can all agree that Joel McHale as Jeff Winger as Criss Angel ought to be a hoot and a half, huh? Regardless, this is going to be one memorable night for “Community” and its fans, assuming Dan Harmon and the writers really didn’t jump the shark with the Chang taking over Greendale plot line. Of course, I’m reminded that The Fonz did jump over a shark in “Happy Days.” And that was the best one!

Rob Payne also writes the comic The Unstoppable Force, tweets on the Twitter @RobOfWar, and his wares can be purchased here (if you’re into that sort of thing). He doesn’t know what he’ll do on Thursday nights once “Community” moves to Friday, not watching NBC (except “Parks and Recreation”) is a definite, though.
