I had no idea that Showtime’s Penny Dreadful aired its season finale last night, but for the scant few of you who have stuck around through all three seasons, it was to be the series finale, as well. The show will not move ahead for another season. That was apparently not a network decision, but the decision of the showrunner and writer, John Logan. In light of what I understand happened in the finale, that makes sense. It would have been difficult to continue — in fact, that’s why John Logan wrote the finale the way he did.
That said, I do know that Penny Dreadful fans may have been in small supply, but they were passionate. Having watched the first season and a half, I don’t really understand why, but I appreciate that people still enjoy a super slow-burning Van Helsing with demons and nudity and demon nudity.
In the meantime, we’ll always have this.
(There are also NSFW images of Eva Green fucking nobody).
