Patrick Stewart Would Totally Tug Down His Starfleet Uniform For Tarantino

Patrick Stewart is an absolute icon. From Shakespeare to Mutants to his adorable social media accounts (@SirPatStew), he’s delighted us for ages. But for many Americans, we first discovered his talents when he sat on the bridge of the Enterprise, as Star Trek: The Next Generation’s Captain Jean-Luc Picard. And with Quentin Tarantino cooking up a crazy new R-rated Star Trek film, Stewart has indicated he’d be willing to don that Starfleet jumpsuit once again. Provided it meant he could be directed by Tarantino himself, that is.

Stewart spoke with The Hollywood Reporter at the Dubai International Film Festival, and mentioned that working with Tarantino is a dream of his. “I admire his work so much, and to be in a Tarantino film would give me so much satisfaction. So, if he is going to direct something to do with Star Trek and there was the possibility of dear old Jean-Luc showing up again and doing that for Mr Tarantino, I would embrace it.”

But if Tarantino can find a way to bring Star Trek:TNG characters into the rebooted Star Trek film universe, then I have to wonder who else he could work into the story. Like, could we finally get some resolution on Riker’s fantastic beard?!

Or maybe Tarantino should just make Stewart happy and cast him in his next film. I hear he’s still casting for his current project, a film about the Charles Manson-era summer of 1969. And honestly, we hear Stewart is kind of a hippie anyway. He’d be perfect!

As Picard himself would say: “Make it so!”
