Game of Thrones’ fifth season filming continues in Osuna, Spain, and when the call went out for 600 extras, the crowd went wild. Like, really wild. EW reports that Fresco Film’s call was answered with an astounding 86,000 applications. The HBO production has already hired over 1,000 locals for various shoots, and what with some of the series biggest stars in town, we can’t exactly blame anyone for wanting to catch a glimpse. The U.S. Ambassador to Spain spoke on the country’s excitement: “It’s been a great, uplifting moment for the country. “There’s tremendous excitement all over Spain, and it highlights the fact there are incredibly talented people here.”
After House Martell scenes were filmed in Seville’s Alcázar palace, cast and crew moved on to Osuna, where a “large-scale fighting sequence” will be filmed. Here are a few shots of some of our favorites out and about. (*Some may consider the photos SPOILERISH because certain characters are in the same locale — if you’re one of them, don’t peek)
