There were some really outstanding horror movies that hit in 2014. There was the killer cool vampire comedy Only Lovers Left Alive, the vampire western A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night. And of course all hail The Babadook! But none of these are getting a sequel. Ouija is.
Of course it is. It’s was a long, dull toy commercial. Critics hated it, giving it a 7% on Rotten Tomatoes. Audiences were underwhelmed, giving it a “C” Cinema Score. But you know what, none of that matters because that mediocre movie made bank. With a $5 million budget, Ouija made over $50 million domestic.
So this is your fault. We tried to warn you.
Collider spoke to Ouija producers Andrew Form and Brad Fuller, who threatened, “Ouija 2 is coming.”
This duo brought us forgettable horror offerings like The Hitcher, Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, The Unborn, 2005’s The Amityville Horror, and 2010’s A Nightmare on Elm Street. It’s kind of their thing. Though
credit shame where it’s due, they also produced the Megan Fox-fronted Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Seriously. We need to stop enabling these two.
