Oscars: Neil Patrick Harris Will Belt Out The Latest Cultural Obsession From 'Frozen' Overlords
Last year, Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez won the Academy Award for penning Frozen’s omnipresent anthem “Let It Go.” This year they’re back at the behest of host Neil Patrick Harris.
Via the tweeted vid above, Harris revealed to the world that the married songwriting team of Anderson-Lopez and Lopez will be writing something for the Oscars. My guess would be the opening number, which often loops in references to many of the year’s top contenders. But before you groan over Frozen ennui, remember that half of this couple also co-wrote Avenue Q and The Book of Mormon.
Now take into account that NPH has openly parodied his own persona (Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay) and this year played both a serial killer (American Horror Story) and a Friend Zone Personified monster man (Gone Girl). What I’m saying is, shit could get weird, and not in the cringe-inducing “We Saw Your Boobs” debacle of 2013 way.
So I for one welcome out Frozen overlords.
