I knew Enrico Palazzo. And you, Ed Helms, are no Enrico Palazzo.

From Variety:

Detective Frank Drebin is coming back with Ed Helms on board to portray Leslie Nielsen’s character in Paramount’s reboot of “The Naked Gun” comedy franchise.

The studio has tapped the scripting team of Thomas Lennon and R. Ben Garant — best known for the “Night at the Museum” and “Reno 911″ franchises, to write the screenplay as a new spin on the Drebin character.

This is a real slap in the face.

Leslie Nielsen was the kind of actor where, even in terrible movies, he was flawless. I’m sure Ed Helms is a nice guy and all, but his hosting gig on SNL a while back completely decimated any good will I had toward him, he completely Toby-ed The Office and The Hangover movies are everything wrong with Hollywood. So, excuse me for being unhappy about this.

Move along, folks. Nothing to see here.
