Some new Fargo casting news dropped today, and we finally have our young Lou Solverson in Patrick Wilson, of Watchmen and pingponging with topless Lena Dunham fame. This young Lou is:

a clean cut Minnesota State Patrolman, four years back from Vietnam, where he served in the Navy. A humble and competent man, Lou is a devoted husband to his wife and father to four-year-old Molly.

I see it. I love it.

The synopsis for the season is all about Lou, by the way.

Fargo’s new chapter, which will unfold over the course of 10 episodes, will travel back to 1979 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Luverne, Minnesota, where a young State Police Officer Lou Solverson will tackle an all new ‘true crime’ case.
In other excellent news, we also know now that that Ted Danson will play Hank Larsson, “the Sheriff of Rock County, Minnesota. An unflappable WWII vet who embodies a certain cowboy poetry, Hank is Lou’s father-in-law.” danson-fargoface.jpg

And finally Jean Smart (Designing Women) is Floyd Gerhardt, “the matriarch of the Gerhardt crime family. She’s stood by her husband’s side for 40 years, but now that he’s out of the picture, she thinks it’s her turn to run things.”

And, as a reminder, we’ll also be seeing Kirsten Dunst and Jesse “Lance” Plemons as “a small town beautician with big city dreams” and her husband, “a butcher’s assistant who wants to be supportive of his wife’s self-discovery, even if he doesn’t quite understand it.” The season will also feature Nick Offerman, Brad Garrett, and the best Culkin (Kieran).
