You can’t blame the guy, moving really is a bitch. Williams has signed on for his third HBO project, the miniseries Crime.

The New York crime story, a passion project of Gandolfini, centers on Jack Stone — played by John Turturro, who replaced the Sopranos star — an ambulance-chasing New York City attorney who gets in over his head when he takes on the case of Pakistani Nasir Khan (Riz Ahmed), accused of murdering a girl on the Upper West Side.

Williams will play Freddy, the head of a NY gang, controlling his nexus of power within the walls of Rikers Island.

Just to be very clear, more Michael K. Williams is always a good thing. I want him to be in all of the shows. (Pretty Little Liars trying to get one over on Chalky White? I would watch that. The Supernatural brothers killing demons with Omar? Yes.) But I wish Williams were playing the role of Jack Stone and not Freddy. We know Williams can play a gangster. But remember how amazing his guest turn on Community was?

In fact, if there are any movie execs, screen writers, or demigods reading, let me pitch you the only decent project I’ll ever come up with: Michael K Williams and Charlie Day doing whatever the hell they want. Just film them doing stuff. Then shut up and take my money.
