You have to hand it to Fox, they’re really kinda almost fully devoted to this half-hearted attempt to save Mulaney. First they reduced the season order instead of flat-out canceling it on the grounds of it being a terrible piece of sh*t. Then Mulaney himself took to Twitter to ask
fans people to give it one more shot, as if this week is going to be the good episode they’ve been building up to. Now, they’re in the final death rattle of any TV show: the time change. Which would be fine, except that they’re dragging Bob’s Burgers into their unfunny, laugh-tracked, just-cancel-it-already mess. Bob’s Burgers, which has only had TWO episodes this season because of various sports stuff, doesn’t need that.
Now, in actuality, this is a good move for Bob’s Burgers. It’s switching to 9:30 on Sundays, with a Family Guy lead-in (because I guess people still watch Family Guy?), and Mulaney is moving all the way down to 7:30. So, sure Mulaney, take that spot, and while you’re at it, feel free to keep moving your way down the clock until you’ve slipped all the way off the space-time continuum entirely*. If you need Bob’s Burgers, it’ll be over here, being perfect and not giving a crap.
*Is this the correct usage of this idea? Vivian Kane saw Interstellar and is now a master of all things space-time, right?
