The next season of “Parks and Recreation,” which kicks off in late September, will feature an Eagleton-Pawnee plot, which will take place over several episodes. It will involve the two towns embarking on a joint venture of some sort, but most importantly, according to showrunner Mike Schur, it will allow the viewers to finally meet the Pawnee crew’s equivalents. “If you were in the Eagleton Parks Department, what would it look like? We wanted to show that world.”
The casting for all the bizarro versions of the “Parks” department has fallen into place, and this is what we can expect:
Leslie Knope vs. Kristen Bell
Ron Swanson vs. Sam Elliot
Donna vs. Billy Eichner
April Ludgate vs. June Diane Raphael (“NTSF:SD:SUV,” “New Girl”)
Meanwhile, Tom Haverford’s bizzaro character is being kept under wraps. “It’s not who the actor is,” Mike Schur explains. “It’s the concept behind it.”
Well, I’m baffled on that. Maybe Jean Ralphio was hired over in Eagleton unbeknownst to Tom.
