We will have a more appropriate and thoughtful tribute to Leonard Nimoy once we collect our thoughts, but out of respect and to give you a place to share your thoughts and memories, we do want to pass along the incredibly sad news that Leonard Nimoy has passed away today, according to his son. He died this morning in his home from end-stage chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. He was 83.

Best known as Dr. Spock from Star Trek, Nimoy obviously means a great deal to a large segment to many people. We are saddened and sorry for your loss, and by “your,” we mean the world.

Appropriately, this was his final tweet.

Rest in peace, Mr. Nimoy.
