Kurt Russell gives good hair.
From Elvis
to Snake;
from MacReady
to Earp, to Stuntman Mike,
Kurt Russell and his hair have given us their all. And at 63, the magic continues with his triumphant return to the western genre:
That’s the first image from S. Craig Zahler’s debut feature, Bone Tomahawk, a western/horror that finds Russell’s Sheriff Franklin Hunt leading a group to rescue captives from a “group of cannibalistic cave dwellers (what I really want to know is how he finds out people are being held prisoner in a cave, *and* eaten).” This could get interesting, especially with the cast that’s been rounded up: Richard Jenkins, Patrick Wilson, Matthew Fox, David Arquette, James Tolkan, Sean Young, Lili Simmons, Sid Haig, Jamie Hector, Kathryn Morris and Fred Melamed. Sean Young? Please let her be the Cannibal Cueen (sorry!). Also, if things work out, perhaps this could lead to Kurt Russell in a very special Hannibal guest starring role. Fingers crossed.
Bone Tomahawk is currently seeking distribution, and expected to hit theaters late 2015.
