When the Jurassic World clip featuring Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt broke yesterday, the reaction on Twitter mirrored the reaction here in our comments section. It was fairly equally divided between those who thought the dialogue was stilted and awful, and those who couldn’t hear the dialogue over Chris Pratt’s unbuttoned shirt.

In Cindy’s write-up, in fact, she wrote that the cringeworthy dialogue in the clip made her want to punch Chris Pratt. Apparently, we feminist-leaning sites forgot to synchronize our talking points because our friends over at The Mary Sue were hummuna hummana humming (and to be honest, so I was I).

Joss Whedon weighed in on the side of Cindy:

I suspect director Colin Trevorrow is feeling a little thrown under the bus after that Tweet. In the meantime, I do hope that the rest of the movie — while continuing to feature Chris Pratt with an unbuttoned shirt — improves upon the dialogue and stereotypical situations.

In the meantime, take it easy on Pratt, Whedon. He’s one of the staples of the Marvel franchise now.
