We’re losing a lot of TV this year. Mad Men, Justified, Parks and Recreation, and probably at least two of three of your own personal favorites are either ending this year or already did in 2014. But fear not, fellow viewers. Because for everything you’re sad to see go, we’re getting the ultimate replacement: John Stamos.
It’s been way too long (like over a year) since these words have graced our screens:
Fox has ordered a pilot for Stamos’ untitled single camera comedy, about a lifelong bachelor (read: Stamos sexy times) who finds out he’s not only a father, but also a grandfather. If that doesn’t sell you, know that the show is being written by Danny Chun, of Happy Endings.
Along with Uncle Jesse himself, the show will also be produced by Dan Fogelman, who has already proven he can do great, campy, GIFable things with Stamos in Galavant.
Today Fox also ordered a pilot (Studio City) from the Shameless team of John Wells, Krista Vernoff, and Andrew Stearn, about a young up-and-coming singer, living with her singer-songwriter father, who is revealed to be a drug dealer for celebrities.
All in all, well done, Fox. You did good today.
