Over on Instagram, where January Jones has been surprisingly unchilly (some might even say warm, funny, down to Earth, and personable), she is accusing the marketing folks behind the 50 Shades of Grey of lifting their idea for a movie poster from Mad Men.
What do you think?
Well, maybe. Standing in front of a window looking over the city is not exactly novel. Nor, I think, is suggesting that any superhero has a problem with the Green Lantern (they ALL should) as The LEGO Movie did in suggesting that Channing Tatum’s Superman was annoyed by Jonah Hill’s Green Lantern. If you’ve seen the movie, you know of what I speak. Apparently, Jerry Seinfeld used a similar gag in an AMEX commercial, and Jerry is perturbed that it was re-appropriated for The LEGO movie.
Total Newman move, Jerry. Even if they did lift it, it was a throwaway gag in the film, and besides, whatever happened to imitation being the sincerest form of flattery Also, when you make criticisms like that on Twitter, you’re just inviting others to criticize you.
Ouch.
