The biggest news of the week for Pajibans (and Twilight fans, but I repeat myself) is that the trailer for Eclipse finally gets released at 9 a.m. EST on Thursday March 11th. I KNOW! I’m totally screaming too. But if you just absolutely can’t wait for that, then there’s even better news: a ten second clip of the trailer will be released on Wednesday. I’m so going to stay up finishing the story I’m writing in which Jacob and Edward fall in love with me and I commit suicide so that Bella can have both of them because she’s my BFF.
But if you somehow don’t find Twilight interesting, here might be something a little more up your alley: teenage lesbian werewolves.
Jack and Diane is a film described thus by the press release:
Jack and Diane, two teenage girls, meet in New York City and spend the night kissing ferociously. Diane’s charming innocence quickly begins to open Jack’s tough skinned heart. But, when Jack discovers that Diane is leaving the country in a week she tries to push her away. Diane must struggle to keep their love alive while hiding the secret that her newly awakened sexual desire is giving her werewolf-like visions.
So it’s Ginger Snaps except stupid. Oh, that John Mellencamp song makes so much more sense now. I’m just going to go out on a limb and speculate that the defining characteristics of werewolves (furry, muscular, toothy) do not overlap particularly well with the generally accepted model of attractive lesbians. One might point out that they are actually the exact opposites of each other.
Filming starts later this year, with an expected release date sometime in 2011.
