It Wasn't An April Fool, We Got the R-Rating for 'Deadpool'!
I had several people post what seemed to be Mario Lopez interviewing Ryan Reynolds about Deadpool. I thought perhaps there would be some interesting tidbits in the chat, if I could stand the smarmy, plastic Extra vibe covering the entire thing. In the interview, Lopez brings up Wolverine: Origins and that pesky rating battle between PG-13 and R.
Glorious. Confirmation then came from Ryan Reynolds himself on Twitter.
Everything is coming together superbly. I’m so excited for Deadpool that I will either be totally justified in my fangirling (as I was with The Dark Knight) or that last spark of enthusiasm I had for seeing Hollywood not screw up something I love will be crushed into a fine powder. Of course, if that happens then someone will have to pay. Most likely it will be one of you, randomly drawn via a totally not rigged and very sophisticated set of circumstances, and that winner will have to move into TK’s zombie basement while I get mine built.
Deadpool drops into theaters on February 12, 2016. Pray to your gods, people.
