I'm on a Bus on a Psychedelic Trip

Enter the Void is the latest film by Gaspar Noé (Irreversible, I Stand Alone) and by latest, I mean over a year old (it debuted at Cannes 2009). Seems like we’re always behind on those fancy French films; case and point Vincent Cassel’s Mesrine, for which we’ve been waiting since 2008 (out in limited release August 27th).

Described as a surrealist roller coaster ride, Enter the Void is the story of a brother watching over his sister, with a bit of a twist - the drug dealing brother is killed and it’s his ghost keeping tabs on his sibling. From what I can gather events are out of sequence and filled with sex, trippy camera work and special effects. As is often the case with controversial filmmakers, the reviews are mixed and range from “silly” to “repulsive” and “a marvel”. In other words, I’m practically guaranteed to see this.
