He's a Little Bit Dirty, He's a Little Bit Pretty Too

A “bike messenger thriller”? Don’t ask me how those words make sense together, but then again, maybe they do now that Michael Shannon (Revolutionary Road, Jonah Hex, The Runaways) is in as Premium Rush’s villainous cop. The Academy Award nominated star will be hunting down Dustin’s new favorite boy toy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, a New York City bike messenger who picked up an envelope Michael Shannon desperately wants. Also in talks to join the film as a fellow messenger trying to help outwit Shannon’s cop, is Jamie Chung (Grown Ups), but I don’t know who the hell she is.

Shannon adds a little of that edgy darkness that allows him to bring the pretty or the creepy-scary-weird thing, kind of like that Seinfeld episode about people who are two-faced (“The Strike”). But whatever he looks like, he’s a fantastic actor and so is JGL, so even though the premise is weak and the name is shite, I might get sucked in. Dammit!
