I don’t know about you, but I’m very much missing the McKellen/Stewart world tour and all the wonderful photos we were getting on a near-daily basis. Every once in a while, I relive the old days on their Twitter pages. The boys are still busy though; Stewart is working on his new Starz series, and McKellen is filming Mr. Holmes (previously called A Slight Trick of the Mind).
Bill Condon (The Twilight Saga, The Fifth Estate, Gods and Monsters) is directing the adaptation of Mitch Cullen’s novel about Sherlock Holmes as an elderly man with a failing memory. Laura Linney co-stars as his housekeeper, and as yet, we don’t know who’ll play Holmes’ son. The story also follows Sherlock revisiting an old, unsolved case.
McKellen shared the first photo of himself as a 93 year old Holmes:
Hey, isn’t that John Watson I spy back there?
Mr. Holmes will be released in 2015.
Cindy Davis, (Twitter) wants our favorite boys to live forever.
