We have confirmation, people. WE HAVE MOVEMENT.
Colin Farrell — as he confirmed over the weekend — will be in the second season of True Detective. HBO also confirmed that Vince Vaughn will be in the series. Taylor Kitch, meanwhile, has not been confirmed yet, nor has the female lead. We also know that Justin Lin (Fast and Furious, the paintball episode of “Community”) will direct the first two episodes.
Here’s the logline, from HBO: “Three police officers and a career criminal must navigate a web of conspiracy in the aftermath of a murder.”
Here’s who Farrell and Vaughn will play:
Colin Farrell as Ray Velcoro, a compromised detective whose allegiances are torn between his masters in a corrupt police department and the mobster who owns him.
Vince Vaughn as Frank Semyon, a career criminal in danger of losing his empire when his move into legitimate enterprise is upended by the murder of a business partner
So far, all that checks out with the rumors.
Filming is set to begin later this fall in California.
