After five weeks on the air, Conviction starring Hayley Atwell, a title that could not stay in our brains if it tried and clearly didn’t because there’s a next part of this sentence coming, has been cancelled. This is the first cancellation of the fall TV season.

Conviction (seriously, it’s the Sam Worthington of titles; I’ve had to glance up twice to remember it) featured Atwell as Hayes Morrison (*shakes head no*), a former First Daughter who…Jesus, this plot is convoluted. I’ll let Dustin explain:

a former First Daughter who is blackmailed by the Manhattan district attorney into heading up the Conviction Integrity Unit, an Innocence Project-like organization where Hayes is charged with clearing a series of wrongfully convicted prisoners. Inexplicably, she is given 5 days to clear each case, or she’ll lose her job and her mother — who is vying to become a Senator — will rat her out for her coke problem and send her to jail.

Hard to believe this didn’t catch on. People, please. Cast Hayley Atwell is a good thing. HAVEN’T WE BEEN THROUGH ENOUGH?

Yes this is three-day-old news. We’ve been going through some stuff.
