Sites like ours have been dreamcasting a big-screen version of Harley Quinn for years. Here, I believe, Kristen Bell has been mentioned more times than any other as a potential Harley Quinn, but one person that has rarely — if ever — come up in that discussion is Margot Robbie, the Wolf of Wall Street break-out star, who has apparently landed the role, according to Collider.

Robbie has been in negotiations for the movie for weeks now, and there had been some suggestion that she might play Vixen, while Cara Delevingne was up for the role of Harley Quinn (according to Latino Review). But now, according to Collider, Robbie will be the one to play the comic-book favorite, a good girl brainwashed into a bad one by the Joker (who Jared Leto is reportedly being eyed to play).

I don’t know as much about Quinn as many, but Robbie seems a very good fit: She’s a credible actress, she can play straight or dirty, and she’s having a helluva break-out year — she already had four more movies on tap, following her scene-stealing part in Wolf of Wall Street. She also does great work in heels.
